As the first chills of winter caused all parkrun nerds to wait anxiously to see which events would be cancelled and which would go ahead, a number of our local runs fell foul of the icy blast. With Monsal Trail and Buxton both cancelling early at least those affected had plenty of time to look for alternatives.
Lisa Walton takes the tourist award for consecutive weeks having chosen Glossop as a replacement for Buxton and finished the slightly undulating course in 41st place and 31.28. The most popular parkrun for MACS this week where Roy Austin took 26.35, 56th, Dennis Holmes 28.04, 72nd and Sarah Walton 43.48, 142nd all completed the icy but pancake flat 3 lap course. The only other parkrun where I have found MAC participation this morning was at Shipley Country Park where Luke Beresford managed a win in 19.37 whilst Jay Bird finished in 27.03 for 30th position.
