John Thorpe reports:
Saturday morning saw three MACs head over to Buxton to race the Peak Skyline.
Peter Wilmot took on the Full route at 29 miles and over 6000ft climbing over Axe Edge, The Roaches, Shutlingsloe, Shining Tor and Burbage Edge.
Peter had a great day out enjoying the great British August weather, constant rain throughout made for tough running, Pete finished 28th in 6h:28m.
Taking on the Half Skyline was Mark Elwis and John Thorpe, the Half goes over Axe Edge, Shining Tor and Burbage Edge taking in 14.5 miles and 3000ft climbing. First back was John Thorpe in 7th and 1st V40 in 2h:21 Mark Elwis had a great run coming in 9th in 2h:27.
All the runners were greeted by a lone Bagpiper on route at Solomons Temple!
No photos were taken as no one was daft enough to get the camera out due to inclement weather!!
I’d recommend the Half to any club member, nothing too steep making it a grand day out – https://www.peakskyline.co.uk/
