The local Riber Hill Race took place on Tuesday evening in perfect sunny conditions marking the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.
MACs were out in great force with Turbulent Toby Galloping Gill showing his recent fell running form by storming to a win on local turf, making light of the hills, with his fleet footed fell dancing skills crossing the finish line in a super fast 31.17. A total of 16 Matlock runners completed the 4.5 mile race that packs in some 1000ft of ascent with some impressive performances.
Big thanks to Richard Bradbury for putting on an excellent well organised race. A post race pint of Beer in the Jug n Glass in Lea was well earned as the sun set over the distant Riber Castle.
