Senior Training Schedule

Monday is training night with shorter sets of hill and speedwork. Wednesday is a steadier speed and strength session (not scheduled below - we like to keep it mysterious). Thursday is a longer run with runners in groups of similar abilities.

For newer / steadier runners at an easier pace

Wednesday 6pm 

These sessions are aimed particularly at newer and steadier runners (but all are welcome). Our run out from and back to the Arc is at an easier pace – the training session allows everyone to work at their own pace, with support and direction from the group leader.

Speed / Hill / Track High Intensity Session

Monday 6pm

Meet at the Arc Leisure Centre in Matlock unless otherwise stated in the schedule

We like to mix things up a bit, so the sessions might include different sorts of sprints and loops around Hall Leys Park, running up hills (it’s not as bad as it sounds) and other high intensity techniques that will build your speed and stamina.

Longer Runs -  various groups at different distances and paces

These are our longer runs. During winter, they tend to be along roads with headtorches – during summer we make the most of the beautiful scenery around us, with off-road runs around the local moors and villages, off-road wherever possible.

Endurance sessions for those looking to improve their 5k times and above. Perfect for those doing Spring Marathons.

These sessions are aimed at adult runners with some experience of track training.
