She Ultra 2026
The She Ultra is a 50k race that takes place in Wales on the Llŷn Peninsula. It is the world’s largest all female ultra.
The race starts in the town of Pwllheli, North Wales, and runs along the beaches and sandy hills of the Wales Coast path to Abersoch, before turning inland. The route then follows the country roads and footpaths of the welsh countryside for 16 miles before returning to Abersoch, where you head to the finish the same way. A highlight of the route was sheltering from a hail shower in a huge aid station, that was also a working farm (video attached)! Really enjoyed the pigs in blankets and salted potatoes but there was a full spread on offer.
I entered this race with the goal to finish my first ultra as a challenge 10 months after having a baby, and managed to finish in 7 hours 17 minutes, 318th out of 2,931 runners.
Highly recommend to any women who want to try an ultra.
