Thursday night saw the 40th anniversary of the Stoney Middleton Fell Race, with 19 MACs taking on this Peak District Classic.
In significantly better weather conditions than we all suffered through at races at the weekend, just over 200 runners took on the 5.5 mile route starting from Stoney Middleton playing field. The route quickly started the long climb past the Sun Inn and up on to the tops above Stoney, with just a few more short climbs before the long descent back down into the village.
Dan Haworth led the charge for MAC, but suffered a rare defeat, finishing in 2nd overall (to be fair, he was beaten by an Olympian). Great runs by everyone who took part on a lovely evening in the Peak.
