John Thorpe reports:
Sunday morning saw three MACs head over to Tittesworth Reservoir in Staffordshire. Two were taking on the 50k Ultra and Sally Owen was doing the 10k.
John and Emma Fitzgerald had an early start for the 7am start time, the race starts and finishes at the Visitor centre, on its way it climbs up Hen Cloud, The Roaches, Cheeks Hill and Axe Edge whilst passing The Three Shires head on its way, covering 30.5 miles and 5000ft elevation. The weather wasn’t too bad with the odd brief shower and fairly breezy on the tops.
Emma stepped up for her first Ultra and had a fantastic run finishing 101st in 7h:38:39. John lost his Mojo after 4 miles and struggled round with a few sick stops in 6h:25:40.
Sally Owen did the 10k which went up Hen cloud then returned back to the finish with over 1000ft climbing it was an ordinary 10k, She finished 80th in 1h:18
