Festival of running update
We plan to reschedule the event for Saturday 26 June 2021
The Matlock Athletic Club Festival of Running (comprising the Ian Milne White Peak Marathon, Swift Half Marathon 'Down in a Shot' 10k) was scheduled to take place on Saturday 15 May 2021. The Government roadmap indicates that step 3 (which will lift most restrictions on outdoor gatherings) will not take effect until 17 May at the earliest preventing the event from proceeding as planned.
We know that runners are keen to get back into action. We plan to reschedule the event for Saturday 26 June. This will allow some flexibility if there is a slight delay in the roadmap out of lockdown. Many runners will be following training plans and starting to step up the mileage. This new date should allow runners to modify those plans slightly so that their efforts to date are not lost. All of us are now sadly accustomed to our lives being dictated by events outside of our control. Please note that the event will be subject to licences being granted by the landowners and Association of Running Clubs, and compliance with any government restrictions that are in place at the time. Runners will be contacted directly (using the email address provided when entering the race) with further information.
