Report from Race Director, Dennis Belbin
After the rain of the previous day the weather Gods shined on the 2017 Black Rocks Race. We had a record turnout of 205 runners, despite the efforts of someone removing tape and signs before the race the work of the fantastic marshals made sure the run went off without a hitch, and this year there was even a contingency plan in case the barge was running and opened the swing bridge! The slight amendment to the course on the way back down from the Trig point apparently gave a "More interesting decent". The winner was Harry Holmes representing Pudsey & Bromley in a fantastic time of 34.55 with the fastest Lady being Lucy Taylor of Ripley RC in 45:03. Fastest Junior Male was Jack White of City of Norwich who was also 3rd overall. There were no Junior Ladies. Thank you to Matlock Rugby Club for allowing us to use their facilities and Thank you to everyone who helped makes tonight's run the success it was.
