Parkrun

Parkrun News Saturday 27 April 2024
18 MAC’s ran, jogged, walked, volunteered or a combination of these on Saturday covering 10 different venues. Performance of the day was at Poolsbrook Country park where Jacob Jones was first finisher in a rapid PB time of 19.04 and an age grading score of 72.99%. Not too far behind in a pretty decent time of 22.12 was dad Gary in 25th position. Also setting a new PB this weekend at Endcliffe parkrun was Roy Austin with a 23.24 for 153rd place. Not quite a PB but a pretty quick time was the 23.37 set by Jay Bird at Long Eaton for 116th place helped by his personal pacer for the day Luke Beresford. Also undertaking pace making duties but on a more comfortable 28 minute schedule at Belfont Lakes parkrun Beccy Curtis-Hall was on time with 4 seconds to spare having had a nice chat with Rob and others on the way round no doubt. Not to be outdone in the pace making volunteering this weekend Chairman Andy presumably opted for a cautious 22 minute target and came in with a clear 3 seconds to spare at Monsal Trail. Getting in on the act of collecting both run and volunteer credits this weekend were Lisa Walton at Eastleigh parkrun and Dennis Holmes at Ganger Farm parkrun both in Hampshire. Making a return to parkrunning at Ashbourne parkrun Les Thurston sampled the slightly muddy course and grabbed the 1st vet 70 place in a time of 29.25 with regular Ashbourne runner Andrew Watson recording a consistent 24.25 and 25th position finish. At Pavillion Gardens Buxton, Meg and Greg both had steady runs around this scenic and undulating course whilst also close to home Gav Elliott completed the slightly hillier Shipley Country park parkrun.
