Yorkshire 3 Peaks

Yesterday saw a Quartet of Macs take The Yorkshire 3 Peaks race known as The Marathon with mountains, The course takes on just over 24 miles and 5200 ft elevation, The first climb takes you up Pen Y Ghent at 694m high before an 8 mile monotonous drag to Ribblehead Viaduct before the next and steepest climb starts heading up Whernside 736m high with a steep descent to match it beats the legs up! Finally you Summit Ingleborough at 724m high with a 4.5 miles descent left to the Finish, For Mac Joe Oldfield lead the way in a fantastic run finishing 9th in 3:17, Miles Winter on his first 3 Peaks had a great run finishing in 4:26 in 222nd and John Thorpe enjoying it this year and doing a 30 minute Pb in 4:39 and Unfortunately Jack Cummins not feeling 100% chose the right idea and took an early DNF
Race winners were Grant Cunliffe in 3:09
Ladies winner was Holly Wooton 3:34 and New Course record
