The 2024 Grindleford Gallop race took place on Saturday 16th March. The race is 21 miles/35km with 3000ft/850m ascent. The course takes in some beautiful Peak District countryside and passes through the villages of Grindleford, Eyam, Great Longstone, Edensor and Baslow, as well as the Chatsworth estate and Baslow and Frogatt edges. There is the option to run or walk the route. There were 5 MACs, all who ran.
The overall winner was MACs very own Greg Hopkinson in a time of 2 hours 31 mins. Next back for MAC was James Pinder, followed by Matthew Haywood, Jack Cummins and Cathy Cresswell. There were 403 runners and 225 walkers.
The race was also the final race of the ‘Outside’ race series, which Greg also won!
