Parkrun Catchup

parkrun report for Saturday 16 March 2024

Apologies for the extreme lateness of this report but I was caught up in St Patricks day celebrations all weekend with slight after effects on Monday.

Hopefully as a consequence I have got everyone’s results with 20 members running, walking or volunteering or a mixture of all 3!
Andrew Watson had a good run at Alvaston achieving a 70.68% age grading with 21.12 for 22nd place. Lisa Walton kept her run of 30 somethings going with 30.17 whilst on car parking duties once more too.
Dennis Holmes was off with the AA travel group (not alcoholics anonymous) again, this time to Bere Island off the West Coast of Ireland and landed 15th place in 26.25 whilst Jay Bird finished in 24.48 at Endcliffe for 184th position. Something of a disparity between the number and quality of runners at these 2 events.
Up at Fell Foot in the lakes Simon Brister undertook barcode scanning duties to save his legs for Sunday when he was due to be out on the fells orienteering.
Chris and Roy were off to Mansfield with Roy also saving himself for the Ashby 20 by strolling around as a parkwalker in 51.46.

Sole MAC at Markeaton park this week was Louise with a pretty good 24.47 no doubt still nursing one injury or another?

Leading home the MAC quartet at Monsal Trail this week was supervet Karl Webster in 21.34 for 21st place and a 70.63% age grading. Not so far behind and tightly packed were Dan Ashcroft, Paul Clark and Megan Elliott. Andy Mellor was run directing with Atessa barcode scanning and Sarah funnel managing making things run as smooth as silk no doubt.
Going for the obscure events to gain places, Pete Bush turned up at Nant y Pandy thereby securing 11th place in 25.38.

Pre penultimately Sarah managed to drag Rob out to Poolsbrook (or maybe it was the other way around?) with Sarah taking the honours in 24.33 and 3rd lady whilst Rob bumbled around in 26.54 obviously practising his marathon pace.

Gavin Elliott also saving himself for a Sunday run jogged around Princes parkrun in Liverpool in 32.04 for 411th place.

Finally over at Sherwood Pines Jo Lloyd completed the lovely trail run around Clipstone Forest in 30.22 for 166th position.

Well run/volunteered all.
