Sherwood Pines Half Marathon & 10k Report
On Sunday 17thMarch us three Musketeer’s me Sally Owen, Ellie Salomoni and Jonathan Tyson ran at Sherwood Pines Half Marathon & 10k event.
Sherwood Pines Forest Park is a forest park located near the village of Kings Clipstone, Nottinghamshire, England. Originally called Clipstone Heath, it was acquired by Forestry England in 1925 and planted with trees in response to a wood shortage after World War I. The park offers activities such as walking, bushcraft, mountain biking and there is a visitor centre. It is the largest park in the East Midlands of England.
The Half Marathon is a two-lap route with 10k runners completing a single lap, on undulating tracks and trails around Sherwood Pines. However, the terrain was not as its best due to the amount of rain fallen lately and the ground was saturated, muddy, slippery, and even a river crossing so guaranteed soggy wet feet.
me Sally Owen ran the 10k – 54:46 (2nd Vet 50) Overall 88th out of 297 Runners.
First Runners to finishing line were 1st Male George Holden – 37:33 Mansfield Harriers and 1st Female Grace Quigley – 43:53

Jonathan Tyson – 01:51:41 55th and Ellie Salomoni – 02:08:57 (2nd Vet 60) 131 out of 225 Runners.
First Runners to finishing line were 1st Male Ben Plummer 01:12:51 – Long Eaton Triathlon Club and 1st Female – Ellie Sprake 01:37:20
