51 sore heads (including 7 MACs) chose to not do a Parkrun and have a couple of hours extra in bed before heading out into the sunny, but fresh, New Year’s Day morning to do David Denton’s hangover race starting from the Malt Shovel pub in Wirksworth. The 4.3 mile undulating course was a little damp in places, but as it was all on the hard stuff nothing to worry about. Leading home the MAC contingent was Ed James who came 3rd in 26.55 followed by Tinofara Chiku, 7th in 29.22 and Lottie Riddle 16th/2nd lady in 31.30. Also running were Andrew Hodkin (34.18), David Curtis (35.14), Dale Peakall (35.22) and Josh Woolley (37.27).
Winning the race by 1s was Craig Jeffery of Dark Peak in 26.45. First Lady was Tracey Greenway (Unattached) in 31.26.
