Parkrun

Parkrun news 23.04.24
This is an early flash post which will be edited later as more results come in. Internet connection in the Black Bulls Head Coniston is not great. Well done to everyone that ran or volunteered this morning!
As they say better late than never. From the top, Lisa Walton ran at Alvaston parkrun as well as grabbing her volunteer credit for expert car park marshalling skills. Luke Beresford obviously had his mind on the Wilmslow Half Marathon whilst having the most steady of jogs around Bestwood Village parkrun on Saturday. His 1.13pb at Wilmslow fully justifying his cautious approach. Gav Elliott was somewhere near Watford and turned in a respectable 23.07 for 61st place whilst Chris Routh headed North to Marple where he finished in 25.37 for 25th position.
The dirty dozen of MAC’s turned out at Monsal Trail parkrun with Andy again Race Directing with Atessa on stopwatch duties and Sarah Barcode Scanning. At the very sharp end of the runners Harry Holmes grabbed another first finisher place in 17.45 whilst young Jacob Jones set a new PB of 19.33 in 8th place. Not so far behind in 10th place and 20.40 was Darren Spibey then a quartet of MACS all closely packed between 29th and 37th positions, Captain Greg possibly was saving his legs for another day in 50th place whilst David Davidson had another greta run finishing in 88th place and 26.28 to score a 72.86% age grading!
Only two further fine athletes turned out for parkrun on Saturday being Dennis Holmes who was up in the Lakes at Rothay Park, Ambleside where he ran an impressive 25.13 for 28th place whilst Simon Brister who is more often to be up in Cumbria actually ran Shipley Country park parkrun in a great time of 25.15 for 23rd place and an age grading of 75.05% which gave him the highest grading of all MAC’S this weekend. Well done everyone especially Jacob and Luke on their new PB’s.
