Parkrun

Todays parkrun results. 18 MACS ran or volunteered at 11 different venues with a couple of new ones to add to the list that I know MACS to have run. In alphabetical order of parkrun, Jay Bird travelled the relatively short distance to Abbey Park Leicester where he had a cracking run finishing in 23.09 for 26th place. Just a bit closer to home at Alvaston parkrun Beccy and Rob had a nice bumble around in 22.49 and 24.56 respectively for 47th & 82nd. At our third letter “A” parkrun, Ashbourne Recreation Ground, speedsters Luke and Simon took 1st and 3rd places in 18.29 and 19.22. Moving slightly North to Sheffield, Roy and Chris returned to Concord for steady runs whilst much further North at Fell Foot parkrun on lake Windermere, Simon Brister put in another top performance finishing in 20th place in 23.59 and 77.69% age grading. At the other end of the country in London, Lisa Walton joined 707 other participants at Fulham Palace parkrun where she ran 31.20 for 494th place. But for Simons trip to the lakes she would have been our parkrun tourist of the week! Performance of the day was at our local parkrun, Monsal trail where Will Croft JM15-17 was first finisher in his new PB of 18.30. In the middle aged category of VM40-44 Ian Watson ran a very acceptable 19.53 for 6th position whilst in the more advanced years VM50-54 category, Karl Webster also had a good run finishing in 21.26 for 14th place. Over at Poolsbrook Country Park Gav Elliott made a return to parkrunning in 23.11 for 50th place whilst Sarah Walton volunteered and performed timekeeping duties. In Robin Hood country, Greg and Meg jogged around Sherwood pines with Megan putting in a lot more effort than Greg to finish in 22.20 for 24th overall and 2nd lady. Finally at Shipley Country park Andrew Watson had a cracking run to finish in 22.48 and 16th place.
You know that you are getting old and confused when you miss yourself from the results you have written. Dennis Holmes ran Sandringham parkrun in 25.13 finishing in 29th position!
