Parkrun Saturday

Record numbers of MAC’s turned out for parkrunday this morning with some cracking results to celebrate. At our “Home” parkrun, Monsal Trail, no fewer than 14 MAC’s ran whilst a further 3 were marshalling. At the sharp end ,Harry Holmes and Greg Hopkinson completed the 1-2, with 6 other MAC’s in the top 25 including Megan and Christine for the ladies.
Down at Alvaston parkrun, Beccy Curtis-Hall led home the trio of MAC runners in a super time of 22.45 for 56th place and 6th lady whilst up at Rother Valley Country Park, Hayley Gill was doing the same in leading in the trio of MAC’s in a superb time of 18.16 for 3rd place overall and 1st lady finisher naturally. MAC new member Tinofara Chiku had a great run finishing in 6th place in 19.20 whilst Hayleys husband Steve also ran well for 41st in 22.53.
Following on from the trios we move to the pairs, with Simon and Louise at Ashbourne parkrun once again. Simon grabbed a second place finish in 19.54 with Louise going one better in the ladies and claiming 11th overall in 23.32.
Our second couple, Jay and Dennis, made the relatively modest journey up to Manchester to Stretford parkrun which is a very nice flat course around Longford park starting and finishing on the running track inside the athletics stadium. With 600 metres on the running track this could be a PB course although not for Jay nor Dennis.
Finally on to our 2 MAC “singles”. Luke Beresford ventured into the leafy suburbs of South Nottingham to Rushcliffe country park which he obviously found to his liking as he registered another first finisher in a time of 17.03, whilst Roy Austin chose a short trip to the relatively new parkrun at Thonock Lane farm to grab a number 10 and celebrate his 200th parkrun!!. Roy recorded a pretty swift 24.00 for 12th position.
Happy parkrunning.
