Ok so apart from the Kings speech this is what we have all been waiting for. Todays Christmas Day parkrunners and volunteers managed 5 different venues between them with 16 of 21 MACS at either Monsal or Poolsbrook. Some performances may have been alcohol affected although this would seem to have been affecting the Poolsbrook contingent more than the Monsal, where both Michaela and Nicky Dick had great runs and recorded 70% plus age graded results.
Equally impressive Christmas Day performances were registered by Luke Beresford and Kate Ruffell at the scenic but very hilly Bestwood Village parkrun with Luke adding another first finisher to his list and a 73% age grading whilst Kate ran an impressive 25.27 for 5th lady and 43rd overall thereby scoring 74.13% age grading.
Finally, Lisa Walton and Dennis Holmes enjoyed the mud and puddles to be found at Wilmslow parkrun which obviously slowed their times considerably with alcohol playing no part in this.
Late VAR news just in that Les Thurston made his annual pilgrimage to Penrose parkrun thereby securing him the tourist award and an 87th place finish in 27.45 or 28.23. Honest Les claiming the latter.
