Parkrun

Todays parkrun news!
15 MAC’s braved variable weather conditions at 6 different parkrun venues this morning. Lisa Walton not only ran at Alvaston but also took on car park marshall duties in order to further her V Index. (It’s a parkrun thing!). At Belvoir Castle parkrun Kate Ruffell had a great run on an undulating/hilly course, finishing in 24.19 for first lady and 17th overall and a very impressive 77.59% age grading.
Closer to home at Brierley Forest Rob and Beccy had a much more gentle stroll around in 28.07 for 92nd and 93rd places.
Off on the tourist trail yet again Jay and Dennis popped over to North Wales to take on the challenging Greenfield Valley parkrun course. This course is basically a game of two halves being downhill for the first mile and a half then except for a couple of small loops, a run back up the same hill you went down to start with. Jay had a great run finishing in 9th place in 24.16. with Dennis in 14th in 25.41.
Moving back to our home parkrun at Monsal Trail, Greg led home our quartet in 17.58 for 2nd place followed by Darren Spibey in 14th place in 20.29 and Mark Moriarty in 21st position and 21.27. Sole MAC lady Megan Elliott clocked a nice 22.48 for 5th ady and 40th overall.
Finally, over the border in Nottinghamshire at Wollaton Hall parkrun, Luke the parkrun machine Beresford was first finisher in a time of 17.58 whilst Roy Austin returning from injury and a long run yesterday (excuse) managed 26.48 and 163rd place with Chris Rouse just over a minute behind in 27.59 and 198th position.
